Angelina G. ("Lena Bena") Dorsagno

Angelina “Lena Bena” Dorsagno age 17, of Utica, passed into the Arms of the Lord on Sunday July 9, 2023, at the Gulisano Childrens Hospital in Syracuse, NY after a courageous life-long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in New Hartford, NY on January 9, 2006, a daughter of Brandi Schrader Boyer and Brian Dorsagno, and was in the 11th grade at TR Proctor High School. Lena was a loving and caring person who enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved the outdoors and reveled in any chance to go fishing. Lena could also be found at her job at Dunkin-Donuts on Mohawk St. where she graced her patrons with her beautiful smile. Her determination and strong will was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Her family will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Surviving are her mother Brandi Boyer and stepfather Matthew Boyer; her father Brian Dorsagno and stepmother Lisa Malek-Dorsagno; her brothers and sisters, AnGeno Dorsagno, Bella Dorsagno, twins Mia and Mya “Mac” Dorsagno and Maddy Boyer; her maternal grandfather John Schrader; grandparents Michael and Donna Boyer and Paulette and Richie Malek; several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends , especially acknowledging her “Guardian Angel” Maria Alberico Brindisi and also her friends Lauren and Janet Baker, Ava Post and Gianna LoPiccolo. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother Theresa “Nonnie” Schrader, paternal grandparents Harry and Donna Marie Dorsagno and her uncle Steven Dorsagno.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life on Saturday at 11:00 am in Mary, Mother of Our Savior Church (Our Lady of Lourdes Campus) 2222 Genesee St. Utica, NY. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass at church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to establish a fund in memory of Lena. Envelopes will be available at church. The mass will be livestreamed @ marymotherofoursaviorchurch.
