Our Mom, Angeline Mancuso Macera born July 3, 1921 to Sam and Palmina (Perrine) Mancuso and currently residing at the Masonic Care Community peacefully left us on February 21, 2015 at age 93.
Angie married Anthony Macera on September 27, 1947 at St Mary of Mount Carmel Church. There union was blessed with three children who survive her Patricia (David) Watson, Diane (Richard) Williams (Crofton, MD) and Joseph (Ellen Hill) Macera (Ganesvoort, NY),
Together they built a home in 1959. Dad, designer and builder, and Mom, cater, feeding the many family and friends who helped Dad.
After Dad's death on June 22, 1969, at 48, Mom returned to work as a cashier at Chicago Market on Oneida Street until she retired. She enjoyed working with the public and always had a smile for her customers at work and around town.
Our Mom was a loving, strong, determined and sweet individual who quietly saw that her three children all graduated from college after Dad's passing. Mom possessed many talents including cooking, sewing and knitting. She made many of her daughter's clothes including prom gowns and Diane's wedding gown. Angie was an excellent cook and baker who always looked for new recipes to try. Her homemade hats were enjoyed by all. Mom was sure to have each of her children's and their spouses favorite dishes prepared when they came home to visit.
Angie is also survived by her grandchildren Debbie (Damon) Gunson and Anthony (Chrissy) Williams and great grandchildren Jordon Gunson and Jacklyn Williams all of Maryland. She was predeceased by her brothers Salvatore (Margaret), Joseph (Evelyn) Mancuso and her in-laws Louise (Raymond) Franco, Michael (Judy) Macera, Nancy (Bernie) Block, Albert (Ellen) Macera.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday 2/28/15 at 1:00 pm in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
