Angeline (Rosato) Pugliese

Mrs. Angeline (Rosato) Pugliese age 95, of Utica passed away peacefully on Friday January 27, 2017 at the Masonic Care Community with the love and support of her family.

She was born in Utica, NY on September 5, 1921 a daughter of the late Frederico and Catherina Papa Rosato and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School. On November 13, 1943, she was married to Francis J. Pugliese, a blessed union of 63 years until his passing on October 20, 2007.

Angeline was employed for over 30 years with the New York Telephone Co. starting as an operator and advancing to supervisor, a position she held until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John, the St. Theresa Society and the Telephone Pioneers.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Mary Katherine and Andrew Geroux, two sons and daughters-in-law Frederick and Susan Pugliese, Francis J. and Ruth Pugliese, two sisters Anna Orsino and Josephine Burns, one brother Robert Rosato, 10 beloved grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one brother Dominick Rosato.

Visiting hours will be Friday morning from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Funeral services will commence at the conclusion of visitation at 11:30 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Arthur Krawczenko officiating.

The family would like to commend and thank the nurses and staff of the Masonic Care Community especially the Placid Unit where Angeline was a resident, for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Abraham House or a charity of one's choice, in her memory.
