Anita DiMarco

Mrs. Anita (DeLegge) DiMarco, age 88, of New Hartford passed away on Sunday June 15, 2014 at home, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Utica, on August 25, 1925 a daughter of the late Amadeo and Anna Salerno DiLegge and was educated in local schools. She received her Bachelors degree and Masters degree from the New York State College for Teachers. On August 6, 1960 she was united in marriage with Robert DiMarco, in Mt.CarmelChurch, a blessed union of 32 years until his passing on September 29, 1992.

Anita was employed as a teacher with the UticaCitySchool District, until her retirement. She enjoyed her many years as a volunteer at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Surviving are two beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Ann P. and Edward Meyer of West Winfield and Mary Beth and Frank Abbadessa of New Hartford; one beloved son Robert DiMarco, Jr. of Lake Placid; her cherished grandchildren Annabelle, Josiah, Elisa Anita and Samuel Abbadessa, E.J., Melissa and Ryan Meyer and Kerri and Shane Forguites; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves Danny, her beloved canine companion. She was predeceased by one sister Norma Occipinto.

There will be no visiting hours.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 12:30 pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Private interment will be in St. JohnsCemetery, Rome.

The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of mass in church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Anita's name may be made to Hospice Care Inc. or the Humane Society of Rome. Envelopes will be available.
