Anna M. Giordano
1930-2024
Anna M. Giordano, age 93, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Wynn Hospital.
She was born in Utica on July 11, 1930, a daughter of the late Vito and Mary (Denarola) Gagliardi. Anna was a graduate of Proctor High School. On November 3, 1956, she married John V. Giordano in Utica, a blessed union of 27 years prior to his passing on October 28, 1984.
Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (Gigi). Her greatest achievement in life was raising and caring for her family and she was proud of everything her family did. She was very generous and funny and enjoyed spending time with her family and cousins.
Anna is survived by her loving son and daughter in law, Joe and Patti Giordano; her adoring grandchildren, John (Lisa) Giordano, Marc (Renee) Giordano and Jacyln Giordano; her cherished great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Penelope; sister-in-law, Eleanor Gagliardi; nieces and nephews, Carol and Gayle Gagliardi, Frank, Joe and Brian Mazzaferro, Michael, Dan, Mark and Jim Pandolf and the many cousins of the Denarola and Gagliardi families.
She was predeceased by her parents, Vito and Mary; her brother, Anthony Gagliardi; sisters, Marie (Frank) Mazzaferro and Philomena (Michael) Pandolf; beloved cousins, "Little Marie" (Joe) Milazzo, Vin Cordo, Frank (Vera) Cordo, Peter Chambrone and Tim Venturino and her nephew, Gary Gagliardi.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11 AM at Historic Old St. John's Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Anna's family will receive guests at the conclusion of the Mass. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved, John.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Anna's name may be made to Historic Old St. John's Church. Envelopes will be available at the Mass.
The Giordano family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the 6th and 8th floor at the Wynn Hospital as well as the staff of the 2nd floor of the Sitrin Home for all the care and compassion shown during a difficult time.
