Anna Betty (Gaetano) Giruzzi

Mrs. Anna Betty (Gaetano) Giruzzi, age 80, of Utica, passed away on Monday September 22, 2014 at the Masonic Care Community, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Utica on March 27, 1934 a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Domenica Gaetano and was educated in local schools, having graduated from TR Proctor High School.

On July 4, 1953 she was united in marriage to Anthony J. Giruzzi, a blessed union of 60 years, until his passing on July 2, 2013.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary of Mt.CarmelChurch.

Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dedicated her entire life to taking care of her family. She had a passion for gardening, cooking and bowling. She had a heart as big as this world. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Surviving are three beloved sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph A. and Annette M. Giruzzi of Barneveld, Anthony J. Jr. and Cynthia C. Giruzzi of Barneveld, and James R. and Anna M. Giruzzi of Utica; her loving grandchildren, Joseph Jr. and Christopher Giruzzi, Anthony Giruzzi III and Jim Young, Jennifer and Eric Coriale, Vincenzo Giruzzi and fiancAC. Diana Ji and Ricardo Giruzzi; four cherished great-grandchildren, Dolan, Gaven, Cassidy and Tyler; one sister and brother-in-law Rose and Albert Circelli; one brother and sister-in-law Anthony and Diane Gaetano; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Louise and Senatro Nudo and Philomena and Michael Ferris; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers Prosperio and Frank Gaetano.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Carmel/Blessed SacramentChurch. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church.

There will be no public visiting hours.

The family extends a special Thank You to the staff of the Masonic Care Community, where donations may be made in Anna's memory. Envelopes will be available.
