Anna May (Fiore) Lopiccolo

March 20, 1931 — June 13, 2015

Mrs. Anna May (Fiore) Lopiccolo, age 84, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 13, 2015, in North Carolina, at the home of her son, Anthony.

She was born in Utica on March 20, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Flynn Fiore and was educated in local schools. She was married to Anthony J. Lopiccolo until his passing on October 14, 2002.

Anna May was employed at the Rectory of Sacred Heart Church in Utica for many years until her retirement. After retirement she would spend her winters in Florida, and as a devout Catholic, found great pleasure volunteering her time at St. Luke's Church in Palm Springs, FL.

Anna May was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life centered around her family. Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with them, whether here at home or down South. Anna May also enjoyed her many friends, was an avid golfer and dedicated Yankee fan. A caring and compassionate woman, Anna May was a true role model for the lives she touched. She will always be remembered for the acknowledgement of well wishes through the many cards sent to family and friends. Anna May will be sadly missed, but will be that angel walking beside her beloved family forever.

Surviving are her beloved children Deborah and George Dutkewych, William and Michelle Lopiccolo, David and Laura Lopiccolo, Kathleen Poccia and Robert Karas, Joseph and Bonnie Lopiccolo, Phyllis Lopiccolo, and Anthony and Nancy Lopiccolo; her cherished grandchildren David and Sean Dutkewych, Patrick Lopiccolo, Necole Hazeltine, David, Robert and Aaron Lopiccolo, Brett Huckabone, Rich and Anthony Demkowitch, Anthony Lopiccolo, Michael and Jonathan Schneider, Amanda, Samantha, Alexis, Anthony, Ryan and Maria Lopiccolo, 17 cherished great grandchildren; her sister-in-law Lillian Fiore and several nieces, nephews and many dear friends especially Betty Vasellina. She was predeceased by one brother Joseph Fiore.

At Anna May's request there will be no public visitation.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 11:00 am, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Genesee St., Utica. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna May's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Charity of your choice.
