Antoinette (Broccoli) Prato

Mrs. Antoinette (Broccoli) Prato age 91, of New Hartford, passed away on Thursday February 4, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center after a brief illness with the love and support of her family.

She was born in Utica on July 27, 1929 a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Colosimo Broccoli and was educated in Utica Schools. Antoinette was employed with the General Electric Co. for many years until her retirement. On September 4, 1954 she was married to William “Bill” Prato in Blessed Sacrament Church a loving and special union of 67 years.

Antoinette had a beautiful spirit and was loved by many. She was a wonderful cook and put her tender loving care into it. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and in recent years interacting with them on Facebook. She especially loved seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family meant everything to Antoinette and loved them all unconditionally.

Surviving are her beloved husband Bill, her three beloved children Selene Prato Safaie, Bill Prato and Linda Prato; three cherished grandchildren MJ Safaie, Shawn Safaie and Matthew Safaie and four beloved great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Barbara Broccoli and Phyllis Broccoli and several nieces and nephews who were special to Antoinette. She was also blessed with many wonderful friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by three brothers Mariano and his wife Philomena Broccoli, Victor and Frank Broccoli and one sister Bessie Randazzo and husband Anthony.

At this time Antoinette’s family will honor her privately. A Mass to celebrate her life for family and friends will be held at a future time as health conditions permit. Please keep Antoinette in your thoughts and prayers.
