August "Gus" Fraccola, Sr

Mr. August (Gus) Fraccola, Sr. age 88, of Frankfort, N.Y. passed away peacefully with his beloved family by his side on Friday August 21, 2015 at the St. Luke's Home.

He was born on August 14, 1927 in Utica a son of the late Gaetano and Maria Desimone Fraccola and was educated in local schools. August proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On November 26, 1955 he was married to Phyllis Sweet in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort, NY. a blessed union of 59 years.

Gus was employed for over 28 years with the Remington Arms Co. During that time he was also employed with the Town of Frankfort Police Dept. for 20 years. Subsequently he worked for the LB Security Co., until his retirement. He was a member of the Utica Italian-American Chi Chi Club.

Surviving are his wife Phyllis, two daughters and sons-in-law Maria F. and Ray Johnson of Cicero and Gina and David Haley of Rome; one son and daughter-in-law Augustino and Tammy Fraccola of FL.; his beloved grandchildren Brittany and Ernest Neil, Matthew Haley and fiancAC.e Courtney, Ryan Haley; and Angelino, Angelina and Marcello Fraccola; beloved great grandchildren Nicholas and Anthony Neil and Adriana Haley; in;laws Rose and Matt Zennamo, Bernadette Enjem and Joseph Sweet and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by four brothers Anthony, Chester, Angelo and Benny Fraccola.

Dad was a very compassionate, loving and devoted father and husband. He would always say "I Live for you Kids". His memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, Utica. Private interment will be in CalvaryCemetery.

Visiting hours will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Utica.
