Barbara A. Carparelli, age 69, of New Hartford, passed away on Saturday April 5, 2025, at the Wynn Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Utica on April 29, 1955, a daughter of the late Arthur and Norma O’Conner Curley and graduated from Whitesboro Schools. She also was a graduate of the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing where she attained her LPN degree.
On January 13, 1984, she was married to Raymond P. Carparelli in St. Mary’s Church, Clinton, a loving and blessed union of 41 years. Their marriage was a shining example of deep unwavering love, commitment and support for each other, showcasing a bond that inspired everyone around them.
Barbara has been employed as an LPN with the Oneida Indian Nation Health Care Center in Oneida for the past 12 years, a position she truly enjoyed.
Barb was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose life was centered around her family. They will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Those who knew Barb understood and felt her warmth and kindness.
Surviving are her husband Ray; two daughters and a son-in-law Caitlin Carparelli of Utica, and Ashley and Freddy LaBella of New Hartford; her son Raymond J. Carparelli and fiancé Shely Rodriguez who Barb considered and treated as a daughter; her cherished grandchildren Aurelia, Jayden, Raymond Mateo, Ava and Mia; one sister and brother-in-law Sue and John Lehmann of Deerfield; her brother James Curley of AZ.; her in-laws John Kenefick, and Diane (Carparelli) Hill and also her dear friend Mary Ellen Lissow and several beloved nieces and nephews and her lifelong friends Leo and Ang Perritano.
She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Norma Curley, her sisters Joyce Kenefick, and Sharon Curley, her in-laws Raymond J. and Gia Carparelli and sisters-in-law Joyce Curley and Louise Carparelli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday April 12, 2025, at 12:00 Noon in Historic Old St. John’s Church, downtown Utica. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family extends a heartfelt Thank You to the Bissell family for their kindness and support during Barbara’s illness. Appreciation is also extended to the staff of the Wynn Hospital, especially the ICU and IMCU, also Dr. Matthew Kottmann of the Univ. of Rochester Medical Center and Matthew LaBella PA, Dr. Gesualdo and Dr. Ashok Patel for their kindness and care.
