With the comfort of her loving family by her side, Mrs. Barbara Ann (Jonquil) Casatelli, age 72, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited with her daughter Gina on Sunday December 1, 2013.
She was born in Utica a daughter of the late Louis and Mary Luciano Jonquil and was educated in local schools having graduated from TR Proctor High School and the UticaBusinessSchool. On October 9, 1967 she was united in marriage with Louis P. Casatelli, Sr. a blessed union of 46 years.
Barbara worked as the bookkeeper in the family business, "L. Casatelli's Service Station" on Bleecker St. with her husband Louis, for over 33 years, until her retirement.
Barbara was a woman of great faith in God and in the power of prayer. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Marcy, NY where she served on their prayer chain for many years. She also served as the Prayer Chaplin for the Marcy Seniors, and was a member of the Tramp and Trail Club.
Surviving are her beloved husband Louis, her loving son and daughter-in-law John W. and Michele Heinig of Marcy; her cherished grandchildren Gina Kannan of Clinton and Timothy Heinig of Floyd and her cherished great-granddaughter Jianna Heinig; one sister Rosemary Renodin; niece and nephews Tina, Richard and David Renodin; mother-in-law Rose Casatelli; her in-laws Ronald Casatelli and Rosalia and Roger Lucas; and the love of Lisa Garofalo who referred to her as "Aunt Barbara". She also leaves her special canine companion, "Buddy". She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Gina Marie Heinig and two infant twin brothers John and Joseph Jonquil.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Sunday at 2:00 pm at the First Assembly of God Church, 9427 Maynard Dr.Marcy, NY, with Pastor Timothy Burns officiating. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of services in church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Assembly of God Church, Marcy or the Humane Society of Oneida County.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Dr. Arul Kannan and Dr. Yannick Grenier and the CCU staff of St.LukesHospital, for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
