Mrs. Bernice J. (Jarosz) Keyes age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 15, 2016 at the Presbyterian Assisted Living and Nursing Center.

She was born in Utica on April 22, 1923 a daughter of the late Francis and Anna Kruk Jarosz and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School Class of 1942, and also the Utica School of Commerce. At one time she was married to Thomas Keyes. She was employed for over 34 years with the Oneida County Dept. of Social Services, as a transcriptionist in the Medical Department, until her retirement. In her leisure time, Bernice was a master "baton twirler" and was a member of the TNT Twirlers. Bernice was affectionately known as "Aunt B. or Ciocia Bert." to her family. She was a loving and devoted sister and aunt whose life centered around her family. She will be sadly missed.

Surviving are one brother Fritz Jarosz and Em of FL. and several loving nieces and nephews especially Cynthia Nappi of New Hartford and Susan Brewer and husband Bruce of Syracuse who cared for Bernice the last several years; also many beloved great nieces, great nephews and dear firends, especially Andy and Eleanor. She was predeceased by two sisters Sophie (Jarosz) Forlano and Stephanie (Sadie) Jarosz and her brothers Edward, Leo, Peter, Charles, John and Michael Jarosz.

There will be no public visitation.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday 12/27/16 at 12:00 Noon in Holy Trinity Church, Utica. Private interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Whitesboro. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Polish Community Club 807 Columbia St. Utica, NY 13502, in memory of Bernice.
