Bonnie K. (Shaheen) Sheehan

April 12, 1936 — February 9, 2017

Mrs. Bonnie K. Sheehan (Shaheen) age 80, passed away on Thursday February 9, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by her loving family at her side.

She was born in Utica on April 12, 1936 a daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Bassett Kochanowski and was a graduate of St. Francis deSales High School. On November 21, 1959, she was married to Abraham G. Sheehan in St. Louis Gonzaga Church, a blessed union of 57 years. Bonnie was an accomplished artist and a certified ceramic instructor having owned and operated her own studio, "Sheehan Ceramics" for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Louis Gonzaga Church. Bonnie was a very feisty and vibrant individual, extremely proud of family and her Polish heritage.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Bonnie is survived by her husband Abraham (Abe); two sons and daughters-in-law Walter and Nancy Sheehan of PA. and Abraham and Angela Sheehan of DE; one daughter and son-in-law Rebecca (Becky) and Charles Cragnolin of Sauquoit; her beloved grandchildren Nicole Sheehan and her husband Christopher Sunderlin, Sara Sheehan, Walter (Wally) Sheehan Jr., Meghan and Brian Ziegler, Abraham Sheehan and Gabriella (Gabby) Sheehan; one cherished great grandson Bryce Ziegler; one sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Anthony Locash, VA.; one brother John Kochanowski and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Toby. She was predeceased by one brother Charles.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday (today) from 2-5 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Utica. The Prayer of Incense will be this afternoon at 4:30 pm.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Divine Liturgy of the Faithfull Departed on Monday morning at 11:00 am in St. Louis Gonzaga Church with the Very Rev. Aaron Sandbothe officiating. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Louis Gonzaga Church in memory of Bonnie.
