Boonville- Carmen C. Lindfield, Sr., age 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the Wynn Hospital, with his beloved children by his side.
He was born April 27, 1950, a son of the late Earl W. and Josephine (Rosato) Lindfield and was educated locally having graduated from TR Proctor High School. On July 4, 1969, he married the love of his life, Georgia Reesh, a blessed union of 28 years prior to her passing on December 19, 1997. Carmen was employed with the Federal Government as a heavy equipment operator with GAFB and Fort Drum for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church.
He was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who had a full and exciting life. Carmen enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, long car rides, car shows and was a muscle car enthusiast. He was proud of his Italian heritage and spent countless hours cooking and sharing holiday traditions with his family. A man of many skills, Carmen could be found in his spare time tinkering in the garage with his cars, enjoying time at the Black River in Boonville but was most at peace being with his family or spending time in nature, akin to his dad.
He is survived by his loving children, his three daughters, Dr. Kimberly Lindfield, PhD, of Boston, Robin and Mark Goldberg of Rochester and Dana and F.J. Wadnola of New Hartford; his son and daughter-in-law Carmen Jr. and Jennifer Lindfield of Utica; his cherished grandchildren, Capt. Casey (Brigette) Goldberg, USMC, Leah Goldberg, Jimi Wadnola, Raina Wadnola, Georgia Lindfield, Carly Lindfield, Amaya Rosado and Domonique Taverne; his great-granddaughter, Natalee; his sister, Mary Lindfield of FL; his brother, whom he had a special bond with, Earl (Linda) Lindfield of Syracuse; his in-laws, Cheryl Kopyt, Virginia (Mike) Lynch, Deborah (John) Foxenberg, JoAnne Reesh and Marcia Reesh; dear friends, Mike Juliano, John Patterson, Joe Cotrupe, Bill Taylor and Jan Lomber, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 12 Noon at St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Lindfield family will greet visitors following the Mass in church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery where Carmen will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Georgia.
