Charles "Chuck" Zammiello

Mr. Charles “Chuck” Zammiello, age 69, of Utica passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 2, 2019 at the Eastern Star Home.

He was born in Utica on May 9, 1949 a son of the late Patsy (Chuck) and Eleanora Aceto Zammiello and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School. Chuck held many jobs throughout his life from silk screening to home improvement and retired from the Home Depot.  He learned valuable handyman skills from Phil Turchetti that he used daily while maintaining his home.  Chuck had a love for classic cars and always attended the local car shows.  As a parent, he enjoyed watching his children play soccer and cheerlead at all their events.  Chuck loved baking the family’s favorites for Christmas and Easter.  His favorite past times were playing the guitar, working on cars and watching horror films.  As the years went on he enjoyed attending happy hour at the cigar shop and going to breakfast with his buddies.  Chuck loved his family unconditionally especially his children, grandchildren and sisters. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Surviving are his son Michael Zammiello and Jennifer Murphy of Clifton Park, NY; his daughter Alicia Perkins of Utica; his beloved grandchildren Brody Zammiello, Cosima and Kingston Perkins; two sisters and brothers-in-law Patricia and Joseph Gigliotti of FL and Laurie and Leroy Hayes of Summit, NY; four aunts Mary Jane Zammiello, Connie Della Gala, Jane Saporito and Dolores “Babe” Luizzi and serval nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Eastern Star Home for their attentiveness to all of Chuck’s needs and everything they did to make the last years of his life enjoyable.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:30 – 6:30 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Prayer services will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 6:30 pm in the funeral home.
