Christine Ann (Griffiths) Talerico

Christine Ann Talerico, age 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born on January 17, 1953, a daughter of the late Gerald and Irene (Nadja) Griffiths. Chris was a gradate of UFA and would go on to be employed with St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, Bank of America and Medi-Met prior to her retirement. On May 26, 1973, she married the love of her life, Michael J. Talerico in Holy Trinity Church, a blessed union of 51 years. 

Chris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was an expert mechanic and gardener, but crafts were her favorite hobby of them all. Chris was renowned for being a mother figure to anyone who entered her home. She loved playing games, telling stories and spending time laughing with her family. Chris would travel all over to attend all her grandchildren’s events. Some of her other favorite past-times were finding a good garage sale and shopping at any and all the Dollar Stores, she knew all of them within a three-hour driving distance. 

Chris is survived by her loving husband, Mike; her daughter, Shelly (Jason) Withers; her son Michael (Julie) Talerico; her three beautiful grandchildren, Brennan, Alivia and Aubrey; her brother, Jerry (Diana) Griffiths as well as several in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Pamela Brown.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 4 PM- 6PM at the Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, 1122 Culver Ave., Utica. Funeral services will commence immediately following visitation at 6 PM. 

The Talerico family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice & Palliative Care Inc, especially Debbie and Sheila for all the support and guidance with Chris throughout her illness. 

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Chris’ name may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Inc. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
