Mrs. Congetta “Tina” (Caruso) DeGironimo, age 92, of Utica, passed away on Thursday December 29, 2022, at the Masonic Care Community with her beloved family by her side.
She was born September 14, 1930, in Syracuse, a daughter of the late John and Carmela Lupino Caruso, and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School.
On November 23, 1961, she was joined in marriage to Lawrence DeGironimo in Blessed Sacrament Church, a blessed union of 49 years, until his passing on July 28, 2011.
Tina began her work career at the NY Telephone Co. and then enjoyed her many years working with her family at Café Caruso. Tina was a very talented woman and was an exceptional Crocheter. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and loved making Sunday dinner for her children and grandchildren. Her family will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Michael Tennyson; one son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Dawn DeGironimo; five grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, and Alanna Tennyson, Maiah and Bryan DeGironimo; one brother Ricky Caruso and his companion Jane Gwise; two sisters-in-law Catherine Caruso and Grace Caruso; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister, Mary Caruso, and two brothers Carmen and Joseph Caruso.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday 1/4/2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will greet all visitors at the conclusion of mass in church.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Masonic Care Community for their care and concern given to Tina over the years.
