Diane Dearborn Daley was born to Hilda and Henry Dearborn in Concord N.H. March 30th, 1937. She passed away in Rome New York on Thursday April 29th, 2021.
She graduated C.H.S. '55 and Keene Teacher's College, N.H. B.Ed. '59.
While at a party in 1959 she met up again with, Bill Daley, C.H.S. '54. and Bowdoin '58. They'd known each other growing up but had never dated. That changed in 1959 and they fell deeply in love. They were married at St. Paul's church in Concord in 1961. They lost their first child, Deborah in 1962, but went on to have six more children; John, Patricia, Joseph, Daniel, Steven, and Will.
Diane liked simple pleasures. She smoked Virginia Slims cigarettes until she was 42, but never gave up Milky Way bars, nacho chips with cheese, or especially jelly doughnuts for breakfast.
She adored sales and shopping of all kinds but garage sales were her favorite.
After Bill passed in 2012 never a day went by that she didn't mention him and their love during 51 years of marriage. That love continues.
But her waiting's over. This morning in Heaven she's finishing a Virginia Slims and a jelly doughnut with coffee while her Bill is eating his Grape Nuts. Bill's reading the sports section and she asks him to pass her the living section. There's a tug on her dress and she reaches down and lifts into her lap daughter Deborah playing beneath her feet. She and her oldest daughter look at the pages listing all the "heavenly" garage sales as they both smile at each other while Bill looks up from his sports section and beams at both of them.
Her epitaph will read, "Here lies a woman with style and grace, she's gone on to garage sales in a better place."
Diane is survived by six children; John and Yan New Hartford, N.Y., Patti and Sonny Smith Herkimer, N.Y., Joe and Christyn Daley Seattle Washington, Dan and Stacey Daley N.O.L.A., Steve and Karen Daley Sparta, N.J., and Will and Paula Daley Montreal Canada. By fourteen grandchildren; Connor, Nicholas, Madeline, Nina, Evan, Sophie, Bill, Henry, Stella, David, Meaghan, Shannon, Rebecca and Nathan. Diane was predeceased by husband, Bill, in 2012, daughter Deborah in 1962, and also by her sister, Donna Woodfin. She's survived by a brother, Jenness (and Susan) Dearborn, of N.C. along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
