Douglas R. Morehouse

Douglas R. Morehouse, age 77, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2024, in the comfort of his own home after a long illness.

He was a painter and handyman in the community. Douglas had a unique sense of humor and loved to make people smile and found laughter a very good medicine for a lot of his illness. 

He is survived by his beloved partner and significant others of over 45 years, Mildred Lints; his siters, Janet Doran, Summerfield, FL, Eileen Rath, The Villages, FL and Lois (Steve) Leonard, Glens Falls and his brother, Charles (Laura) Morehouse, Piseco Lake. Douglas is also survived by Mildred's children, whom he called family, Joseph Lints III, Michael (Jacqueline) Lints, Patrick Lints, Tina (Ralph) Grems and Leann (Michael) Nowak. He also had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews that he loved and entertained at family dinners he cooked. Douglas always enjoyed trying to replicate old family recipes and sitting on his porch swing enjoying the sunshine and his garden of flowers and some vegetables. You could count on him to remember the good ol' days with family and friends.

In keeping with Douglas' wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral services. There will be a celebration of life in the future at the convenience of the family at the New Hartford Park Pavillion.
