Edward B. Croghan, age 78, of Clinton, died unexpectedly on Wednesday June 12, 2024, from a sudden Heart Attack.
He was born in Utica, on October 19, 1945, a son of the late John J. and Catherine “Kate” Doherty Croghan and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. On June 24, 1972, he was married to Linda Vivenzo in Blessed Sacrament Church, sharing a loving and blessed union of 52 years. They were blessed with a remarkable daughter Trinity Mar-Katie Croghan who was Edd’s heart along with her pup Chuleta, which he adored.
Edd had a long and respected career as an engineer with Western Electric/AT&T before his retirement. His greatest enjoyments were being at home, reading the NY papers with his coffee, his 5 am gym time, the New York Yankees, skydiving and the love of family and friends.
Surviving are his beloved wife Linda; his cherished daughter Trinity; his siblings Mary Croghan Wilcox, Sister Catherine Sean (Joan) Croghan, CSJ., and Rev. John P. Croghan; his in-laws Kathy Dyble, Joseph Jr., and Elise Vivenzo and Lynne Croghan and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Catherine, brother Tom Croghan and sister, Sr. Catherine Joseph (Judy) Croghan, CSJ; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and Joseph Vivenzo; and two brothers-in-law Jim Wilcox and Stephen Dyble.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday June 18th at 10:30 am in St. Mary’s Church, Clinton, NY, officiated by his brother, Rev. John P. Croghan. Visitation will be held in church prior to funeral services from 9:30 am until 10:15 am.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local food pantry or Tunnel to Towers. Envelopes will be available at the Mass.
A special Thank You is extended to the staff of the Wynn Hospital for their quick response and also to so many amazing family and friends who have helped us during this heart breaking time.
