E. Jean Roefaro

Mrs. E. Jean (Masker) Roefaro, age 88, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday May 24, 2022 at home with the love and support of her family.

She was born on August 22, 1933, in Suffern, N.Y., a daughter of the late Thomas and Jenny Vande Mark Masker. Educated in Tuxedo, N.Y., Jean also graduated from Delhi College, earning an Associates Degree.

On May 21, 1955, she was joined in marriage to Frank L. Roefaro in Mt. Carmel Church in Tuxedo, N.Y., a blessed union of 67 years.

Jean was employed for many years with the New York Telephone Co., retiring several years ago. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John Commandry # 385.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Frank; one daughter Julieann Mannion of PA; three sons and  daughters-in-law, Michael Roefaro of West Palm Beach, FL, Stephen and Meredith Roefaro of Utica, and Frank Jr. and Beth Ann Roefaro of Utica; four grandchildren, Michael and wife Mallory Mannion, Connor Mannion, Thomas Roefaro and Molly Roefaro; one sister and brother-in-law, Mellie and Joseph Kozakiewicz of NJ; two sisters-in-law Carol Roefaro of Utica and Norma Masker of VA. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Michael Mannion; two brothers Alfred and Tucker Masker; her-in-laws, Mario and Elvera (Chickie) Roefaro, Renato and Angela Roefaro, Geno and Mary Roefaro, and Anna and Victor Diodato.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave., Utica. Funeral services will commence at the conclusion of visitation at 11:30 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Kaminski officiating. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may me made to the Msgr. Carl Denti Foundation. The family extends a sincere Thank You to Jean’s caregivers, Debbie, Renee and Michelle for their love and care over the last several years.
