Euphrasia "Dolly" Nasto

Mrs. Euphrasia "Dolly" (Scampone) Nasto, age, 88 of Whitesboro, passed away on Wednesday June 11, 2014 at St. Luke's HospitalCenter, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Utica, on October 20, 1925 a daughter of the late Anselmo and Giovanna DeIorio Scampone and was educated in local schools.

On April 27, 1946 she was united in marriage with John A. Nasto, a blessed union of 68 years. Euphrasia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life centered around her family. They will miss her dearly, but her memory will remain in their hearts forever.

Surviving are her beloved husband John Sr.; two beloved sons and daughters-in-law John and Susan Nasto of Oneida, Robert and Kathleen Nasto of Liverpool; her beloved daughter MaryAnn Nasto of Whitesboro, whose devotion and constant care insured the quality of her last years; her cherished grandchildren Nicole Nasto, Roberta Marie Rickli and husband Christopher, Rochelle Baca and husband Michael and Lindsay Della Giustina and husband William; her beloved great-grandchildren Claire, Emma and Grace; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Euphrasia, Alexander and Agatha Scampone, Delphina Medici, Anselmo and August Scampone, Mary Potempa and Jeni Neri.

Her funeral will be held on Monday at 8:30 am from The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. and at 9:30 am in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visiting hours will be Sunday from 3-6 pm at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of the St. Lukes Rehabilitation Center, Allen Calder Wing, and ICOU for their loving and professional care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Steven Swan Humane Society, in memory of Euphrasia. Envelopes will be available.
