Mr. Frank P. DiSpirito age 101, of Utica passed away on Tuesday December 15, 2020 at the Masonic Care Community with the love and support of his family.
He was born in Utica on September 18, 1919 a son of the late Antonio and Mary DiMeo DiSpirito and graduated form UFA. Frank continued his studies and graduated with a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University. He served our country during WWII in the US Army from 1941 -1945 in the European Theatre. He also served in the “CCC” Civilian Conservation Corps. In 1961 he was married to Joanna DiChristina a blessed union of 18 years until her passing in 1969.
Frank was employed for many years as an Electrical Engineer for the Federal Gov’t. at GAFB in Rome, NY, until his retirement in 1982.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law Anthony and Patricia DiSpirito of Utica and Joseph and Francine DiSpirito of Poland, NY; his beloved grandchildren Joanna DiSpirito and Abby Olsen, Anthony Jr. and Kathleen DiSpirito, Brianna and Scott Einhorn and Alexa DiSpirito; great grandchildren Keian, Lucas and Blake DiSpirito and Chase Einhorn; one sister Lena Carzo of W. Frankfort; one brother Anthony “Jay” DiSpirito of Utica and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters Tina Moody, Florence DiSpirito and Catherine O’Dell and one brother Samuel DiSpirito.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday June 19, 2021 at 10:00 am in Historic Old St. John's Church, cor. John and Bleecker Streets, Downtown Utica, with full Military Honors Conferred. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frank may be made to the Utica Food Pantry PO Box 306 Utica, NY 13503.
