Mr. Frank Raspante, age 83, of Rome/Westmoreland passed away on Sunday December 8, 2024, at the Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, with his beloved family by his side.
He was born in Bagheria, Sicily Italy on August 20, 1941, a son of the late Joseph and Giovanna Jennie Tantillo Raspante and was educated in Italy and Utica. Frank immigrated to the United States and Utica with his parents at the age of 14 years old. Inherent with a strong work ethic Frank entered the workforce directly out of High School. He became a computer operator having worked for MDS (Mohawk Data Sciences) for over 30 years until his retirement. Simultaneously, Frank was an entrepreneur having owned many properties in the area becoming landlord to many residences and businesses throughout the county. Frank was married to Diane Lerch in New Hartford, NY in 2000, a blessed union of 24 years. He was at one time married to Linda Lemons and from that marriage came his beloved daughters Gina and Maria.
Frank was a man of strong character who loved his family dearly. They will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Surviving are his beloved wife Diane; two daughters and sons-in-law Gina and Clint Jordan and Maria and Timmy Bryant all of MS.; his sister Mary Cancilla of Whitesboro and his brother and sister-in-law John A. and Debra Raspante of Clifton Park, NY; his beloved grandchildren Anthony Belli, Danielle and husband John Carpenter, Braiden Jordan, Lauren Jordan, Tyler Bryant and Austin Bryant and he was awaiting the birth of his first great-grandchild; his stepchildren Diane Mauras and George Kimball of Rome, NY and his step grandchildren Linda, Raymond, Saphire and Joseph; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Vincent “Enzo” Cancilla and his stepdaughter Rebecca Kimball.
Visitation will be held Friday December 20, 2024, from 5-7 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Utica. His Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday Dec. 21st at 10:00 am in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church, Utica. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frank may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org or envelopes will be available at services.
