The family of Fred “Fritz” Passante learned many valuable lessons from him during his 94 years of life. Among them, and most important, Family always comes first.
He cherished his best friend, his wife of 67 years, Millie (Romano), and always boasted of their time together. She was and will always be his top priority. He was fiercely protective and passionately loved his children, Carol Ann “Doc” and Greg McQuade, Gary Passante (deceased) and John Foutz, his grandchildren Amie Lynn & Dmitriy Redko, Joshua McQuade, Lea McQuade and Arlene Bendus, his beautiful great-grandchildren, Brayden, Gianna and Leniana. He was so thrilled when he learned that he would be welcoming another great grandson into our family this summer.
He cared deeply for all of his extended family and friends.
He is best known for sharing stories about his experiences as a World War II veteran. He loved his country and was proud to serve. And if you knew Fritz at all, you knew his jokes, which he told over and over again, his love for scratch off tickets and playing cards!
He lived his life fully, and richly. He has gone home to spend time with those who have passed before him and perhaps do a little fishing.
His Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 10th at 12:00 Noon in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church, with Military Honors conferred.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospicare, 172 E King Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850.
