Mrs. Gloria (Centolella) DiMare, 96, of Rocklin, CA, formerly of Utica, died after a long illness on June 25, 2024, in CA.
She was born on April 6, 1928, in Bloomfield, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Peter and Julia Palmisano Centolella and attended Proctor High School in Utica, NY. In 1950, in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Utica, she married Vincent (Jim) DiMare.
Gloria was a proud mother, grandmother, and homemaker. A devoted wife, she traveled the country from Utica, New York to Sacramento, California with her husband, Jim, supporting his career while at the same time raising two children, Lesley and Philip. Gloria lost her beloved husband in 1985. Always a strong woman, Gloria continued her life as a mother and grandmother. She was overjoyed when her grandson, Luca Vincenzo DiMare, was born. A friend to many, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength and will be missed by all.
She is survived by one daughter, Lesley DiMare (David Walter), one son, Philip DiMare and one grandson, Luca DiMare; and nieces and nephews of the Romano, Roefaro and Gigliotti families.
She was predeceased by her sisters Ella (Frank) Romano, Elvera (Chickie) and (Mario) Roefaro and Rose (Samuel) Gigliotti and one brother Raymond (Maggie) Centolella.
A memorial service and burial will be held Tuesday, July 2, at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery & Funeral Center, 7101 Verner Ave., Citrus Heights, CA.
