Gloria (Nitti) Rocci

d. September 27, 2022

New Hartford

Gloria Rocci passed from this world on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in the loving arms of her devoted family, who fought courageously with her to bring peace and comfort during a most difficult time.

Gloria was born in Utica, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Rosalie (Potenza) Nitti. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Thomas R. Proctor High School and Mohawk Valley Community College.

Gloria was united in marriage to James Rocci at St. George’s Church in Utica, a relationship that began during their high school years. Together, Gloria and Jim raised a beautiful and loving family, whose love and respect for each other was always evident. Theirs was a union of 42 years before Jimmy's passing in 2009.

She was previously employed at the New York Telephone Company and for nearly forty years served this community as a most respected and successful Real Estate Broker. Gloria was more recently affiliated with One Realty. She treated each one of her clients with the utmost kindness and consideration, always mindful of their personal circumstances. Gloria loved her work and made long lasting friendships with many colleagues.

She was a deeply faithful person and passed her love of God and His work onto her children and grandchildren. Gloria supported her family in all their endeavors, whether it be dancing, sporting events, school related activities or just a need for conversation and advice. She was always available for any need that might arise in the lives of her family.

Gloria leaves to carry on her legacy, her cherished daughters, Nicole (Richard) Kaminski and children, Ricky and Glori; Kathie (Jason) Taillon and children, Gabriella, Frencecsa, Anthony; her loving sisters, Nicole Jones and Magistrate Judith (Robert) Fanelli and sister-in-law, Vinnie Rocci. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Gia Fanelli and husband Mark Drenga, Mark (Savannah) Ferrara, Paul Ferrara, Peter (Christine) Rocci, Dr. Charles (Brenda) Rocci, Gina Rocci and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves aunts, uncles, special Godchildren, cousins and friends.

Gloria was predeceased by her parents, brother-in-law, Peter Rocci, her in-laws, Mary and Alphonse Rocci, family members and good friends.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Church (Our Lady of Lourdes Campus), 2 Barton Ave., Utica. Gloria’s family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the Mass.

Remembrances in Gloria’s name may be made to the Hope House. Envelopes will be available at the Mass.

The Rocci family wishes to thank Hospice & Palliative Care Inc., for the care, compassion and dignity shown during such a difficult time.
