Gloria Rita (Sisti) Zammiello

Mrs. Gloria Rita (Sisti) Zammiello age 94, a resident of the Masonic Care Community, passed away on Tuesday September 4, 2018 with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Utica on May 17, 1924 a daughter of the late Alexander and Catherine Salerno Sisti and was a proud graduate of TR Proctor High School. On July 10, 1948 she was joined in marriage to Frank A. Zammiello in St. Anthony’s Church, a blessed union of 70 years. The couple resided in Utica where Frank opened his sign business "Friendly Sign Service Co.", and Gloria worked as his bookkeeper for many years.

Surviving are her loving husband Frank; her beloved daughter and son-in-law Therese A. and John Vella of Utica; her cherished grandchildren Jennifer and Sean Dougherty, John F. and Lesley Vella and Christopher and Marylisa Vella; cherished great grandchildren Alexa Dougherty, Mia Vella, Christian, Colin, Carson and Marco Vella; two sisters Mary Perta and Fay Policelli; one brother Robert Sisti and several nieces and nephews. Gloria also leaves Dwight and Donna Davis whom she loved as her own son and daughter-in-law, and also their children and grandchildren who were loved so deeply, Jason Davis, Dezeray Davis, Mayann and Mike Furmanski, Eileen and David Welsh, Michael and McKenzie Furmanski and Matthew and Kaylyn Welch, who cared for Gloria with love and affection. She was predeceased by her sister, brothers, in-laws and extended family.

Gloria's family extends sincere appreciation for the expressions of sympathy shown to them during this difficult time. Gloria's Celebration of her Life and Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church at the convenience of the family. Private interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Please omit flowers. A special Thank You is extended to the entire staff of the Masonic Care Community especially the Erie and Buffalo households for their constant care and compassion given to Gloria and Frank.
