Mr. James “Jamie” DelMastro age 64, passed away on Tuesday January 1, 2019 after a long battle with COPD, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center with his beloved family by his side, while holding his daughters hand.
He was born on January 9, 1954 in Utica a son of the late James and Beverly Gorea DelMastro and was educated in local schools. Jamie was employed for several years with the City of Utica, Construction Dept. a position in which he took great pride, along with many other various positions and fields throughout his life.
Surviving are his beloved daughter and caretaker Kayle DelMastro, his lifelong special friend and caretaker Cathy Monroe, one sister Gina Marie Sharpe; one uncle John P. Gorea; two aunts; aunt Elaine Gorea, and aunt Joanne Gorea, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, treasured friend Benny Perra, and many beloved friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5-7 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Funeral prayers will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, should family and friends desire, please consider a donation to the American Lung Association.
A special thanks to the staff and nurses on St. Elizabeth's ICU unit for working tirelessly around the clock to make sure all of my fathers needs were met, answering our questions, and comforting us in our time of need, most specifically Drew & Gary.
