Johanne Mateo

Johanne Mateo age 58, died on Saturday July 2, 2022, at home after a extended illness, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Utica on September 19, 1963, a daughter of the late Jacob Ortiz and Aida Fuentes Centolella and was educated in local schools.

Johanne was employed as a Home Health Care Aide for many years until her retirement due to illness. She had many talents, but as her family is concerned, she was a Master Chef. She was a culinary artist and loved preparing meals for her family. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Surviving are her beloved son Joel and Danielle Mateo; her beloved daughter Andreana Mateo; her cherished grandchildren Gabriella Mateo, Martin Skermont, Jacob, Jovanie, Joanelyz, Valyntina, Ariela, Andrew, Yaritza, Janiero and Johan Mateo; her siblings and their spouses, Hilda and George Mateo, Raymond and Debra Ortiz, Jeffrey and Rose Ortiz, Susan Ortiz and Jason and Geraldine Ortiz; her aunts and uncles Gloria and Enrique Molina, Lee and Joseph Ruffule, Ernest and Carmen Fuentes, and Jose Fuentes. She was predeceased by her loving son Andrew Mateo and her stepfather Mario Centolella.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Calvary Cemetery next to her beloved son Andrew.
