Mr. Joseph M. DiViccaro, Sr., age 103, of West Palm Beach/Wellington, FL, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 at his home in Florida, with the love and support of his family by his side.
He was born in Utica on March 18, 1915, a son of the late Angelo and Theresa DiOrio DiViccaro, and was educated in local schools.
On June 25, 1938, he was joined in marriage to Arcangela (Mary) Brillante in St. Anthony of Padua Church, a blessed union of 66 years, until her passing on March 31, 2005.
Joseph was employed in trucking and rigging business at Utica Carting Co. for many years, retiring in 1977.
Surviving are his daughter-in-law Annette DiViccaro of FL; six cherished grandchildren and 14 beloved great-grandchildren; one sister Angeline Damiano of Utica; one brother-in-law Pat Brillante of Utica; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two beloved sons, Angelo DiViccaro and his wife Marie and Joseph M. DiViccaro, Jr.; four sisters, Mary Tryon, Josephine Primarola, Nellie Ciufo and Carmella Kulpa-Ciallelo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7p.m. at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave., Utica. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph, may be made to the charity of your choice.
