Josephine (Nivaggi) Graziano

February 10, 1925 — June 29, 2015

Mrs. Josephine (Nivaggi) Graziano, age 90, of Utica, passed away peacefully with her devoted family by her side on Monday June 29, 2015 in Rochester, NY.

She was born on February 10, 1925 in Utica, the daughter of the late John and Theresa Simone Nivaggi. Educated locally she was a graduate of T.R.ProctorHigh School.

On July 15, 1950, she was united in marriage to Thomas C. Graziano in St. Agnes Church, a blessed union of 64 years.

Josephine was employed by the Oneida County Board of Elections as a Senior Clerk for many years until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John, and the St. Theresa Society.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Thomas; one loving daughter and son-in-law, Joan A. and Robert Bentz of TX; three loving sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas C. Jr. and Evann Graziano of VA, Dennis J. and Deborah L. Graziano of Victor, NY, and Manuel J. Graziano of Oneida; her cherished grandchildren, Gina and Tim Lane, Evan, Lauren, Richard and Emily Graziano, Christopher Bentz, Kiera and Justin Hamelink, Jason Dambrose and Cassandra Malloy, and Keith and Daniela Dambrose; her cherished great-grandchildren, Calvin, Ava, Wilson, Alyssa, Lucas and Maxwell Dambrose and Cody Lane; two sisters and one brother-in-law Lena Grasso, and Angeline and Joseph Ducato; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vincent and Claudia Nivaggi, and John and Emily Nivaggi; and many loving nieces and nephews especially Marie Fraccola who was like a daughter to her Aunt Jo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:30 am in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday (today)from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. The ladies Auxiliary will assemble Sunday evening at 5:30 pm at the funeral home for Ritual Services.
