Mrs. Karen (Salmon) McMahon age 66, passed away on Sunday September 13, 2015 at St. Luke's HospitalCenter after a courageous battle with cancer, with her beloved family by her side.
She was born in Constableville, NY on April 20, 1949 a daughter of the late Karl and June Samson Salmon, and was a graduate of SouthLewisHigh School. She was united in marriage to Ronald McMahon on June 7, 1969 in the Constableville Catholic Church, a blessed union of 30 years until his passing on January 28, 2000.
Karen was employed at the MarcyPsychiatricCenter for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the VFW of Stittville, where she served as past president of the Auxillary. She was also a member of the Holland Patent American Legion.
Surviving are two beloved daughters and sons-in-law Heidi and Byron Abraham of Utica and Lisa McMahon and John Hanlon of N. Carolina; her cherished grandchildren Nick, Abby and Todd Abraham; one sister Rita Prescott of Albany; sisters-in-law Audrey McMahon, of Holland Patent and Susan and Joseph Mazur, of Remsen; one aunt MaryLou Croneiser and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Saturday at 11:00 am at the StittvilleUnitedMethodistChurch, Stittville, NY with the Pastor, Rev. Laurie Pauley officiating. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of services in the fellowship center in the lower level of the church.
The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to Chris and Ed Grabski, Brenda and James Capodiferro, Sue and Mike Mills and her dear friends from the Stittville community for their many acts of kindness shown to Karen and her family.
Funeral arrangements are by The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Utica.
