Mrs. Katherine “Kay” (Foresti) LiBritz, age 100, of Utica, passed away on Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital with the love and devotion of her two sons.
She was born in Utica and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Ruggiero Foresti. Educated locally, she was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School and the Business School of Comptometry.
On October 21, 1944, she was united in marriage to Samuel LiBritz, a loving and blessed union of 60 years, until his passing on July 6, 2004
Kay was employed by the Beaunit Fiber Co. for many years as the manager of their Credit Union. She then worked for many years at the Remington Arms Co., as Assistant Manager of the Arms Credit Union, a job she thoroughly enjoyed, until her retirement.
She was a lifelong and devoted parishioner of St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church where she worked every festival and beyond. She was a member of the St. Anthony’s Choir for over 40 years, and the Altar Rosary Society, the Clinton Road Runners, and the IAM.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard J. and Addie LiBritz of Utica, and Gary LiBritz of Utica; daughter-in-law Virginia LiBritz of Syracuse; her grandchildren; Richard S. and wife Mirna LiBritz, Renee LiBritz, Megan LiBritz, Deanna LiBritz and Kim and husband Matt Civiok; great grandchildren Presley, Derik and Zachary; her sister-in-law Adelaide Foresti of Utica and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her dear friend Jane Doti.
She was predeceased by a son Samuel LiBritz Jr.; her brothers Francis, Joseph, Frank and Samuel Foresti and her sister Mary Putrelo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services and Celebration of Life, this Holy Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. Private entombment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church in memory of Kay.
