Kathleen A. Hobaica age 90, of Utica, passed away on Saturday July 1, 2023, at the Masonic Care Community with the love of her family in her heart.
She was born in Utica on October 10, 1932, a daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette Benedetto Graziadei. After the untimely death of her mother, Kay also knew the love of her stepmother Isabelle Benedetto Graziadei. Kay was a 1950 graduate of TR Proctor High School. On July 3, 1954, she was married to the love of her life, Elias C. Hobaica in St. Louis Gonzaga Church, a loving and blessed union of 48 years until his passing on July 25, 2002.
Kay began her work career as a Certified Dental Asst. from 1960-1970. She then was employed with Utica College of Syracuse University from 1970-1993, retiring as the Asst. Director of Student Activities.
She was a parishioner of St. Louis Gonzaga Church, the St. Mary’s Guild, where she served as past president and also the weekly “Girlfriends Club”.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her family will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law Dr. Charles F. and Joan (Brown) Hobaica of New Hartford and Dr. Mark P. and Elizabeth (Stalker) Hobaica of Clinton; her cherished grandchildren Jordon Hobaica, PA. and wife Nicole Hobaica, Alexander C. Hobaica, Esq., Dr Benjamin Hobaica and fiancée Dr. Erica Freund and Dr. Anne Hobaica; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, especially Isabelle Linder and Julie Gudlauski. She was predeceased by her brother Frank Graziadei, Jr., her nephew David Graziadei, and her in-laws George B. (Virginia), Dr. Joseph (Bedelia) and Fred (Lillian) Hobaica.
Her Divine Liturgy (Mass) of the Faithful Departed will be held on Thursday July 6, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Louis Gonzaga Church. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
