Kathleen "Timmy" (Murphy) Maggi

Mrs. Kathleen "Timmy" Murphy Maggi, age 72, of New Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday May 8, 2018 at her home.

She was born in Utica on August 16, 1945 a daughter of the late William and Jane Holt Murphy, and was educated in local schools.  On April 22, 1967 she was married to Joseph Maggi, Jr. in St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro, a blessed union of 41 years until his passing on December 9, 2008.

Timmy was a hairdresser by trade, having graduated form the Utica School of Beauty Culture. Subsequently she was employed with the UNIVAC Corp., before becoming the branch manager of the Sun First Bank at Utica College Campus, a position she held for many years, until her retirement. Timmy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose life centered around her family, especially her cherished granddaughter Alexis, who was the light of her life.

Surviving are her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Mike Flaherty of New Hartford; her loving and adored granddaughter Alexis; one sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Stephen DeRosa; three brothers Martin and Patricia Murphy; William Murphy and Frank Antonelli; and Patrick (Michael) and Leslie Murphy; her in-laws Grace Jennings, Philomena Lazzaro and Angelo and Sharon Maggi, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, especially her special friends Russell and Joanne Schmitt, Rosemary and Byron "Todd" Abraham, Bobby and Kathy Hazelton, and Addie and Richard LiBritz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Timmy, may be made to St. Jude Childrens Reasearch Hospital. Envelopes will be available.
