Lena C. (Spina) Greco

Our Mom, Lena C. (Spina) Greco, born November 19, 1924 to Luigi and Christina Ruggiero Spina, currently residing at the Presbyterian Home, peacefully, left this earth and entered into the arms of God on Friday May 8, 2015.

Mom's talents were extensive, including cooking, masterful baking and crocheting. She loved her family dearly and was always showering them with gifts, which she so enjoyed giving. She had incredible taste and always knew the perfect gift to buy.

Lena was employed for over 34 years as a clerical assistant stenographer for the Engineering Division, RADC at Griffiss Air Force Base, until her retirement in 1989. At one time she was married to Joseph A. Greco.

Surviving are her beloved daughter and son-in-law Michele and Ronald A. Colicci of Utica; one beloved son and daughter-in-law Brian (Bear) and Angela Greco of Utica; one brother-in-law John Russo of Nevada; her cherished grandchildren Ronald J. Colicci, Denise and Christopher Fry, Lori Greco, Jeffrey Greco and Pam Gay, Joseph Greco, Santina Greco and Josh Wilk and Briana Greco and several beloved great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her dear cousin Kay LiBritz. She was predeceased by two sisters Victoria Egleston and Eva Russo and two brothers Samuel and John Spina.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Funeral services will commence at the conclusion of visitation at 7:00 pm at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Kaminski officiating. Private interment will be in Mt.OlivetCemetery, Whitesboro.

Michele and Brian would like to acknowledge the dedication and care given to Lena, by the staff of the Presbyterian Home. The family is also grateful for the prayers, friendship and support of Chaplain Tom Lorenze.

Lena will be sadly missed by all who loved her. "Rest in Peace, Mom"
