Louis A. Cozza

Mr. Louis A. Cozza age 66, of Whitesboro, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday January 7, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, with his beloved family by his side.

He was born in Utica on April 13, 1948 a son of the late Paul R. and Rose M. Rintrona Cozza and was educated in local schools, having graduated from TR Proctor High School.

Louis proudly served our country in the US Marine Corps in Vietnam, from 1967-1970, receiving various medals including the "Purple Heart", for his valiant and patriotic service. On November 14, 1970 he was united in marriage to Theresa "Terry" Rabbia in St. ThomasChurch, a loving and blessed union of 23 years, until her passing in 1993.

Lou was employed for many years with the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., until his retirement. Subsequently he worked along side his family in the operation of the family business "Rintrona's Bakery", taking the helm of the daily operations, after the passing of his parents, until his retirement. He was a member of the Magnificent Yankees Drum and Bugle Corps and also the F & AM Utica Masonic Lodge #47.

Lou had a love for baking, cooking and the outdoors, especially gardening. He had a zest for life and thoroughly enjoyed traveling, in particular his trips with his friends on the Gambling Junkets. A dedicated son, father, grandfather and brother, he will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Surviving are his two beloved daughters and sons-in-law Louanna and Michael Ciancaglini and Nicole and Michael Siriano all of Whitesboro; his cherished grandchildren Jenae and Julia Ciancaglini and Alanna and Gianna Siriano; one brother and sister-in-law Dr. Joseph and Sharon Cozza of New Hartford; one sister and brother-in-law Theresa and Marty Maio of New Hartford; his special, loving and devoted companion Judy Bottini; his father-in-law Sam Rabbia; sister-in-law Sandra Pearsall; his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends especially John Stanzi, Ernie Durse, Sam Bottini, Dennis Guarno and his McDonalds crew. He also leaves his special canine companion Rambo. He was predeceased by one brother John Cozza and his mother-in-law Nicolette (Cora) Rabbia.

There will be no public visitation.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday afternoon at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, with Military Honors.

The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of mass in church.

The family extends a special Thank You to the Whitestown Volunteer Fire Dept., the Whitestown Police and Kunkel Ambulance for their valiant efforts.
