Louise (Cecilia) Borruso age 92, of Yorkville, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, at her home with her beloved family by her side.
She was born in Utica, May 3, 1931, a daughter of the late Neno and Mary (Presite) Cecilia. Louise was a 1949 graduate of UFA High School. On July 25, 1953, she married the love of her life, Leonard Borruso, in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, a blessed union of 62 years, until his passing on July 14, 2015.
Louise was employed as the secretary to the Superintendent of the Whitesboro School District for many years, until her retirement in 1992.
Louise was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose life centered around her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. Her family will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Surviving are her daughters and her son-in-law Nancy and Tom Sullivan, and Mary Borruso all of Yorkville; her sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Christine Borruso of Connecticut, and Paul and Susan Borruso of New Hampshire; her beloved grandchildren Katie Sullivan, Jenna Gentile and husband Robert, Ryan Borruso (Maria), Erin, Matt, Troy and Travis Borruso; four great grandchildren, one sister and brother-in-law Sandra and Sam Damico of Pittsford, NY; her in-laws John Segal, Virginia Cecilia and John (Frances) Borruso; several nieces, nephews and her dear friend Gloria Cifonelli. She was predeceased by her sisters Yolanda (Anthony) Cardone, Pauline (David) Fleishman, Eleanor (Edmund) Dembowski and Deanna Segal, her brother Peter Cecilia and also her in-laws of the Borruso family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial this Friday, November, 3, 2023, at 10:00 am in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of the mass in church.
Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family extends a special Thank You to Dr. Amy Gorczynski and Louise’s caregivers from Hospice Care Inc., especially acknowledging Crystal, Georgia, Angela, Irene and Stacy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital in memory of Louise.
