Lucille A. (Robertello) Ventura, age 96, of Utica, passed away on Friday October 25, 2024, at the Sitrin Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Utica on December 30, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Moribito Robertello and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School.
On March 9, 1946, she was married to Rufus T. Ventura in Utica, a blessed union of 67 years, until his passing on April 14, 2013.
Lucille was employed with the Utica City School District at Columbus Elementary School for 25 years, as a Teacher’s Assistant, until her retirement. She made many friends while at school and was very close to Lydia Zegarelli and Johanne Papagno to this day.
She was a member of the “Chi Sigma” Sorority with her girls from high school. She was also a member of the St. Ann’s Society at Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish and the Liturgy group. Lucille was an avid baker. Everyone loved her pastries. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose life was centered around her family. They will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law Lawrence and Sharon Ventura of Utica and Glenn and Linda Ventura of Frankfort; one daughter Diane Ventura of FL.; her cherished grandchildren Richard L. and Jennifer Ventura, Andrea and William Hollister, Lisa and David Miranda, Christy and Mark Harlander and Stephen Ventura; her beloved great grandchildren Anthony and Erika, Dominick and Brianna, Marsella, Alexis, Karleigh, Dylan, Davin, Dalton, Brad and Logan; two beloved great-great grandchildren Elaina & Vivienne; her sister and brother-in-law Eleanor and Samuel Bianco; her in-laws Marie and John Scialdone and Louis and Jeannette Ventura; her Godchild Edyth Trino and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will be no public visitation.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial this Wednesday Oct. 30th at 10:00 am in Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family extends a special Thank You to the staff of Wynn Hospital 6th floor and ICU and to the staff of the Sitrin Rehabilitation Center for their care and kindness.
