Marguerite D. (Salerno) Mirante

Mrs. Marguerite D. (Salerno) Mirante, age 89, of Utica passed away on Thursday December 8, 2022, with the love of her son in her heart.

She was born in Utica on March 14, 1933, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Siciliano Salerno and was a 1951 graduate of TR Proctor High School. On January 10, 1959, she was married to Ronald J. Mirante in St. Anthony of Padua Church, a blessed union of 44 years until his passing on December 6, 2003.

Marguerite was a loving and caring wife and mother who cherished every moment with her family. In her early years she was employed at GAFB and later Oneida County Dept. of Social Services from which she retired in 1995.

She is survived by her beloved son John N. Mirante; her dear nephew Nicholas Salerno and his children all of FL; sister-in-law Joan Salerno; nephew Steven (Leslie) Salerno and children; nieces Mary Jo (Dr. Vincent) DiMento and Anne (Dr. James) Colocotronis and their children. She was predeceased by her brothers Alex “Bobey” Salerno and Dr. Michael Salerno, her in-laws and aunts and uncles.

The family will honor Marguerite’s life in a private ceremony with the Rev. Tom Servatius officiating. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
