Marie Garro-Lasky

Mrs. Marie Garro - Lasky, age 75, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday March 7, 2015 at her home in Fresno, CA.

She was born in Utica, NY on December 9, 1939, beloved daughter of the late Rocco and Theresa Falchi Garro, until their passing. She also knew the love of her stepmother Rose VanNort - Garro until her passing. Marie was educated in local schools and received her Bachelor's Degree from Utica College of Syracuse University and her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of California San Francisco.

Marie spent the early part of her career as a teacher and continued that with focusing on adult education; primarily working with those who's English was their second language. Later in life, Marie practiced as a Marriage Family Child Therapist.

Marie is survived by her brother, Santo Garro of Utica, her son, David Lasky (Cathy) of CA, her daughter Camille Marie Lasky of CA.; nieces, nephews, cousins and many family members and loved ones.

There will be no public visitation.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Genesee St.Utica. Private interment will be in the family plot in CalvaryCemetery,

The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of mass in church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society as Marie was a breast cancer survivor. Envelopes will be available at church.
