Marie Agnes (Reilly) Lloyd

Marie Agnes (Reilly) Lloyd, age 88, passed on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 with her family by her side and went to Heaven to be with her husband.

She was born on September 24, 1935 in Utica, a daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Lamphear) Reilly. Marie graduated from UCA and went on to be employed with PJ Green Advertising until her retirement. She was a lifelong communicant of Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish (Our Lady of Lourdes) and was active in the Catholic Women’s Club.

On June 30,1956, Marie married the love of her life, Doug “Pops” Lloyd at Our Lady of Lourdes The two shared a blessed union of 55 years prior to his passing on December 14, 2011.

She is survived by her loving children:  Jeff  (Mary Pat) Lloyd, Utica,  Tom (Terry) Lloyd, Utica, David (Sue) Lloyd, New Hartford, and Kathy Lloyd, Utica; grandchildren: Sarah (Michael) McAndrew, Kate (Kris) Hamblin, Brian (Maddie) Lloyd, Becca (Tony) Swalgin, David (Brandi) Lloyd, and Jackie (Kevin) Rowlands;  great-grandchildren; Michael, Margaret , Maureen, Gabby, and Tori, several nieces, nephews as well as her brother-in-law Ralph Clark and long-time friend Gloria Bliss.

Marie was predeceased by her husband Doug; infant daughter, Pamela; grandson, John Lloyd; sisters Lenora Clark and Rosemary Reilly; brothers, Ray and Ed Reilly; in-laws, Earl (Peg) Wiggins, Jesse (Rosemary) Lloyd, Al Lloyd, and Ron (Grace) Lloyd.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 4-7 PM at Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, 1122 Culver Ave., Utica. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 12 Noon at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish (Our Lady of Lourdes Campus), 2222 Genesee Street, Utica, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Marie’s name may be made to Make a Wish Foundation of CNY or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The Lloyd family wishes to thank Mary, Peanut, Kathy, and all staff from Clark West for the care and compassion shown to Marie during her stay.
