Marie Papale

Miss Marie Papale, age 89, of New Hartford, passed away on Monday September 17, 2018 at the Siegenthaler Center of Hospice & Palliative Care.

She was born in Utica on January 21, 1929, a daughter of the late Francisco and Mary Graziano Papale. She was educated locally having graduated from TR Proctor High School. She also was a graduate of Plattsburgh State Teachers College with a B.S. Degree in School Nursing.

Marie was a School Nurse Teacher for the Utica City School District for many years, retiring in 1991. She was a longtime member of the Business Professional Woman’s Club, evening division, and the NYS Teachers Association. Marie was also an avid traveler and she especially enjoyed her time spent in New York City.

Surviving are her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Louis F. and Dolores Papale of Utica; two loving nephews and their wives, Ralph and Shawna Papale, and Frank and Margaret Papale; her cherished great nieces, Bethany Papale and Ben Gelfuso, and Gabrielle and Sara Papale. She also leaves her dear cousins Nick and Joan Piperata, George and Sandra Salem and Dorothy Nassar; her special friend Fred Basik of NYC; and dear friends Joann Longo, Bob Dellecese, Lisa Lemieux, Sandra Cotrupe, Mary Pacini, Tillie Ruben, Kay Montano, Nick and Bibi Montano and Lydia Zegarelli. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Anthony and Patricia Papale and a special aunt Netta Emerich.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 12:30 pm in St. Anthony/St. Agnes Church. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass in church. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
