Mrs. Marion L. (Shaver) Vincent, age 89, a proud resident of North Utica, passed away on Friday October 6, 2017 at the Presbyterian Home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on May 5, 1928 in Herkimer, NY a daughter of the late Adam and Lolita Vrooman Shaver and was educated in Herkimer Schools. On June 29, 1947 she was married to Jack M. Vincent in Christ Episcopal Church, Herkimer, NY a blessed union of 48 years until his passing in 1995.

Marion was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose life centered around her family. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Ronald G. and Lucille A. Vincent of N. Utica; her daughter and son-in-law Deirdre (Dee) and Stephen LaPorte of Sauquoit; daughter-in-law Cheerie L. Vincent of Chadwicks; her beloved grandchildren Amanda LaPorte, Anthony LaPorte, Rodney Vincent and Mark Mateer; great grandchildren John and Owen Mateer; sister-in-law Sondra Marano of NC; brother-in-law Vernon Vincent of Maine and several nieces and nephews; She was predeceased by her son Jack A. Vincent and two sisters Katherine Weston and Barbara Collins

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:00 am at the Christ Episcopal Church, 300 N. Main St. Herkimer, NY. Interment will be in Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta, NY.

Visiting hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Utica.

The family would like to express a Thank You to the nurses and staff at the Presbyterian Home, for their kindness and compassion.
