Mrs. Mary A. (Palazzi) Roefaro age 94, of Utica, passed away on Sunday July 25, 2021, at home with her two sons by her side.
She was born in Altoona, PA on May 17, 1927 a daughter of the late Paul and Lisa Yorio Palazzi and was educated in PA. She relocated to Utica and on September 17, 1966 she was united in marriage to Geno R. Roefaro in St. Anthony of Padua Church, a blessed union of 51 years until his passing on July 19, 2018. While living in PA and Maryland, Mary was the co/owner of her family Dry Cleaning Business. In most recent years she was employed with the M & M Cleaners, in Utica, until her retirement.
Surviving are two sons Gene Roefaro of FL. and Dennis J. Roefaro of Utica/FL.; her cherished grandchildren Nicholas and Jessica Roefaro, Paul Roefaro, Geno, Francesca and Rocco Roefaro; two beloved great grandchildren Giuliana and Dominic Roefaro; her in-laws Frank and Jean Roefaro and Carol Roefaro and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by one brother Paul and wife Sarah Palazzi, her in-laws Mario and Elvera (Chickie) Roefaro, Renato and Angela Roefaro and Anna and Victor Diodato, dear cousins Laura and Joe Burke, Tony and Pearl Ciaccia and Vinny and Sue Ciaccia.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:30 -11:00 am at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Funeral service prayers will be at the conclusion of visitation at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mary. The family extends a heartfelt Thank You to Mary’s caregivers Zlata and Suada for their devoted love and care given to Mary during her illness.
