To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1

 A Time To Be Born:

Deaconess, Mildred L. Jones, was the third child and first daughter born to the late Dan and Annie Lou (Spanks) Coleman on August 20, 1939, in Earle, AR. Mildred known by most as “Sister” and her favorite title “Grandma” was educated in the state of Arkansas.

 A Time To Live:

Mildred relocated to Utica, NY in 1959 and temporally lived with her eldest brother Dan Coleman and his wife. She was employed from 1965-1980 by Mele’s Manufacturer, making Jewelry Boxes. Mildred also worked for Faxton-Sunset St. Luke Nursing Home from 1980-1985 as a CNA until she became disabled.

Mildred and Isiah served as loving Foster Parents for Oneida County from 1978 until 2000. A responsibility they both took seriously, and cherished the opportunity to bring a sense of stability to the lives of those in need.

Mildred joined The House of God Church Band 1 in 1967 under the leadership of the Late General Elder Elester Wright Sr. She dedicated her life to Christ, received the promise of salvation and the gift of eternal life.

Mildred was ordained to the Office of Deaconess in June 1976.

Deaconess Mildred Jones desired to live as a spiritual example in her home-life first. In her own quiet and compassionate way, shared the joy throughout her community. All of whom can testify she indeed lived a life as a true Woman of God!

Mildred found great joy in sewing. She enjoyed volunteering her time with her Compassion Coalition friends until she was no longer able.

Deaconess Jones always credited Deaconess Lettie B. Holliman for the Woman she had become. Deaconess Holliman treated her as a daughter and freely shared sound instructions toward her personal and spiritual walk, and played a significant on-going role in the lives of her girls. Friday evenings were spent prepping food for Saturday church dinner sales. Saturday evenings consisted of reciting scriptures, choir rehearsals, usher practice, and cleaning the sanctuary. Deaconess Jones was praised by all for her potato salad and fried chicken. Among the most precious spiritual words ever spoken by Deaconess Holliman was to “always pray and keep GOD first in our lives,” of which she exemplified.

Both her late Pastors, General Elder E. Wright, and Elder C. Felton acknowledged her as one of the best Deacons to serve under their leadership.

Deaconess Jones led by the Spirit of GOD joined Trinity Faith Temple of Praise in 2007 to guide and assist her daughter within Ministry. She was a true blessing to the ministry and the most faithful and hardest working Deacon to serve.

A Time To Love:

Mildred was united in Holy Matrimony to Isiah Jones on June 8, 1963. Isiah had five sons and one daughter prior to his marriage to Mildred, & together they were blessed with four daughters. Mildred remained the most faithful and loving companion alongside her husband, Isiah, for 40 years until his transition on September 8, 2000.
