Miss Monica Urtz, age 33, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 11, 2015 at the Little Falls Hospital.

She was born in Rome, NY on March 12, 1982 a daughter of Mary Leffert Fanelli and Dean Urtz and was educated in local schools.

Monica was a resident of the McGowan Road, United Cerebral Palsy Center in Ilion, NY where she made many lasting friendships and was loved by all. A happy and witty person by nature, she would always make you laugh and would brighten your day, with her contagious personality. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Surviving are her mother Mary and husband John "JP" Fanelli of Utica; her father Dean and wife Christine Urtz of MA; her sister and brother-in-law Arica and Craig Briggs of Utica; her beloved niece Abriana Briggs; maternal grandparents John and Eleanor Leffert of Star Lake, NY and paternal grandparents Carl and Mae Urtz of Rome, NY and many other relatives and her dear housemates, friends and workers whose lives she touched throughout the years at the UCP Center.

Visiting hours will be Sunday (today) from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Utica. Funeral services will be at the conclusion of visitation at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Mark Kaminski officiating. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
