Natalie M. (Durso) Basile

Our Mother, Natalie M. Basile age 95, of Utica, passed away on Friday April 15, 2016 at the Heritage Health Care Center with her loving daughters by her side.

She was born on September 26, 1920 in Carbondale, PA, a daughter of the late Dominick and Elizabeth Durso. On February 2, 1942, she was joined in marriage to Vito L. Basile in PA., a blessed union of 31 years until his passing on June 8, 1974.

Natalie was a Nurses Aide for over 25 years at the Masonic Home, until her retirement.

Surviving are three beloved daughters and one son-in-law, Roseann and William Scheddin of Vestal, NY, Elizabeth Fobare of Utica, and Barbara R. Reed of Utica; her grandchildren, Michele Scheddin, William Scheddin Jr., Richard Jr. and Stacey Reed, and Melissa M. Reed; her great-grandchildren, Justin and Kaitlyn Scheddin, and Morgan and Jordan Reed; one cherished great-great grandson Ayden Scheddin; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Frances Durso of PA; her sister-in-law, Jean Masko; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sons-in-law, Eugene Fobare and Richard L. Reed Sr., and her brothers and sisters.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home Inc. 1122 Culver Ave. Funeral services will commence at the conclusion of visitation at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with the Rev. Arthur Krawczenko officiating. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
