Mrs. Norma I. (DiLegge) Occipinto, age 90, of Utica, passed away on Sunday January 13, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was born August 3, 1922, in Utica, a daughter of the late Amadeo and Anna Salerna DiLegge, and was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. On April 24, 1948, she was joined in marriage to James Occipinto, Sr. in Mt. Carmel Church, a blessed union of 54 years, until his passing in 2002 Norma was employed for many years at Oneida County ARC, retiring several years ago. Surviving are her loving son, James V. Occipinto, Jr. of Utica; two loving daughters Gail Occipinto Sanger of Rochester, and Norma J. Occipinto Fava of Utica; her cherished grandchildren Lindsay Anne Stacy, Erin Kelli and Larry Bevilacqua, James and Ralph Fava; her cherished great-grandchildren James, Luca, Alexandria and Larry and one sister, Anita DiMarco of New Hartford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday morning at 11:30 am a.m. in Mt. Carmel /Blessed Sacrament Church. Private interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. There will be no public visiting hours. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of Mass in church. The family extends a special Thank You to the staff of the Saranac Household at the Masonic Care Community for their care and compassion given to Norma and her family.
